Baby Stepping

Have I mentioned that this is a little overwhelming to me? Because it is. There's just a lot going on in my personal live right now. This certainly isn't a convenient time to overhaul Little Dude's diet. I mean, is there ever? But really not now. But we're doing it anyway, because it's what he needs. So here's how it's going down and why you shouldn't feel bad if your journey is off to a slower start than you'd like. While it's great to jump in with both feet or hit the ground running or any number of other cliches, it's also okay to take a couple slow, shaky steps, then fall, and get up and try again. It's okay to take baby steps. Eventually, Little Dude will eat all the meals and snacks with all the right proportions of carbs, protein, and fat. He will have the same brand of heavy cream in his cup and the same brand of cheese on his plate. His fruit and veggies will be meticulously measured to ensure that he gets five grams of car...

Overwhelmed

I'm drinking from the firehose here, people. For real, though. This morning I had THE CALL. You know the one. Or maybe you don't. The call with the dietitian where she blasts you with three weeks worth of information in 40 minutes, asks if you have any questions, then signs off and leaves you to tend to the child mess that you've been ignoring for the last 40 minutes while trying to remember all the notes you should have made in actual writing and not just in your head. To be fair, she did also send along a 50-some page handbook containing all the information I could possibly need to know. I hope. So now I just have to sift through 50-some pages of information and implement this plan to completely overhaul my son's diet. Did I mention that my husband is currently out of town for two weeks so I'm alone with three littles and we're in the middle of a pandemic? So it's all cool. So.
